Firefighters

The connection to this project did not begin with a formal briefing, but through a colleague who was actively serving as a firefighter. He repeatedly invited me to join training sessions and introduced me to a recruitment campaign we were developing together. Through that initiative, I was able to accompany several exercises, including a large scale training day that left a strong impression on me.
Being in the middle of these scenarios, I witnessed how teamwork, trust, and individual responsibility come together under pressure. What began behind the lens soon became something more personal. Inspired by what I saw, I later joined the fire department in Männedorf and eventually the Cham fire department, where I am currently serving.
This portfolio contains both images from that original campaign and additional photographs taken at later training sessions that are not part of the initial series. All images were captured during planned, public exercises and have no connection to real emergency operations.
